Every year, crores of pensioners in India have to submit their life certificates. The reason behind it is to find out whether the pensioners are alive or not. Till now, the work done by the pensioners by filing an application in the concerned department or bank was getting a lot of trouble and support for the senior citizens who are old and weak. If the life certificate is not submitted, then the pension of the concerned pensioner will be stopped. Keeping this in mind and to avoid inconvenience to senior citizens, DoPPW (Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare) has launched the “Jeevan Pramaan Face App for Android Mobile Phones” for pensioners to submit their Jeevan Pramaan Patra at home.

- There is no need to go to the bank or the concerned department for this purpose.
- You only need an Android mobile phone with an Internet connection.
- You do not need any external devices. Only this app is sufficient.
- This app is bilingual. You can choose either English or Hindi as your language preference.
How to get Jeevan Pramaan App in Mobile: Prerequisites
- You need a mobile phone having Android 7.0 and above and an Internet connection The RAM of the mobile phone should be at least 4 GB, and the storage capacity should be 64 GB. The minimum storage space should be 500 MB. Resolution of the Camera: 5 Mega Pixels or More
- Your Aadhar Number must be registered with Pension Disbursing Authority, i.e., bank, post office, etc.
- Step 1: Go to the Google Play Store, get the AadhaarFaceRd app and install.
- Step 2: Now get and install the Jeevan Pramaan Face app from the Google Play Store.

How do I submit a life certificate through face authentication through the Jeevan Pramaan Face app?
Grant permissions to the app:
After downloading both apps referred to above, run the Jeevan Pramaan Face app and follow the instructions that appear on screen. This app will seek your permission to take pictures and record videos. Just select “while using the app”. Thereafter, it needs permission to access photos and media on your device. Just allow it.
Operator Authentication:
The next step is operator authentication. Any person can become an operator; even a pensioner can also act as an operator. This is a one-time authentication process.
- The operator has to fill in his or her mobile number, Aadhar number, and e-mail ID and click the “Submit” button. Linking this mobile number with Aadhaar is not necessary, but OTP will be received on that number, so you have to ensure that this mobile number is functional.
- Thereafter, OTP will be received on the entered mobile number and also on the e-mail ID. Just enter any one OTP in the given space on your mobile screen and submit.
- After successful validation of the OTP, you will be provided the option for face scanning. You can use the front or rear camera of your Android mobile for this purpose. You should follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
- After successful face scanning, the app restarts, and a message is shown that registration of the operator is successful.

Pensioner’s Authentication:
Now, the next step is the pensioner’s authentication. On the mobile screen, the pensioner should enter his or her Aadhaar number, mobile number, and e-mail ID in the desired place and submit the information. Here, an e-mail ID is optional.
- After submitting the information, an OTP will be received on the entered mobile number and e-mail ID (if provided). Enter this OTP in the desired place on the screen and submit it for validation.
- After successful validation of OTP, new screen will appear which demands that pensioners enter various information, viz., their name (in Aadhar), type of pension, sanctioning authority, disbursing agency, PPO number, bank account number for pension, etc. The screen will be either pre-filled or the pensioner will have to fill it with the correct information; otherwise, it may be rejected.
- You also have the option to add a new pension PPO in case it is not pre-filled and is not displayed in its list. You can modify all the details on the screen except the PPO number.
- After entering all the details, just submit the information by clicking the submit button. After successful submission of information, it will drag you to the screen for face scanning of the pensioner. Just follow the instructions that appear on the mobile screen.
- After successful face authentication by the pensioner, the Digital Life Certificate (DLC), i.e., Jeevan Pramaan, is successfully generated and appears on the screen with the Pramaan ID for each PPO number.
- The pensioner is also notified by SMS on the mobile number submitted during pensioner authentication. This SMS contains the Pramaan ID and the link from where Jeevan Pramaan may be downloaded.
TIP: If the pensioner wears eyeglasses, it is recommended that the glasses be clear and transparent, and he or she should wear them during the process of face authentication.
